Erik Ryde is a Swedish-American Lead Guitarist and Composer with Jazz and Classical influences, but with roots in Metal. He graduated from Berklee with a degree in Contemporary Writing and Production, focusing mainly on Jazz Theory and finding new ways to play the Guitar.

He currently works as a Session Guitarist for various projects, and as a Composer/Producer for his metal Band Insomnivore. He also performs as the Lead Guitarist for several other bands including Disempath, Season of Mourning, and Something Steady. With Insomnivore, he seeks to push the limits of both his play style and his compositional style on a new Album by blending elements of DNB, Jazz Fusion, and Atonal Classical with Death Metal, heavily inspired by his favorite band - Meshuggah. He also works as a Guitar Teacher at a local school, and as a Photographer/Videographer on occasion.

He also has interests in Mathematics, Programming, Psychoacoustics, and Physics, which he tries to apply to his music as well. As a kid, he was both fascinated and horrified by Artificial Intelligence, which compelled him to pick up making Music based AI as a hobby. He hopes to one day share his new found knowledge in these other areas in a youtube series, and to expand upon current Jazz Theories with his own set of theories.

During college, he worked on video services first as a camera man and then as a director, where he saw many gigs and took notes. He hopes to one day be a famous guitarist like his heroes, and to put on a show like no other before him with boundary-defying music.
